Current Class Schedules
We have made a few changes that are designed to better serve you and your dogs.
Basic Obedience (Over 5 months)
2 PRIVATE LESSONS + 5 week Basic Obedience Class
In this class your dog will learn sit, down, stay, come, place and how to walk on a loose leash as well as the more formal heel command and much more. Your dog will learn how to do it without the treats as well. We use many distractions (toys, kitten, etc.) to ensure your dog is solid in their commands.
ONLY 4-5 DOGS will be allowed per class to allow for more individualized help and to create a better learning environment for you and your dog. We allow dogs that are 4 months but highly recommend that they are 5 months as they are at a better age and learning capacity to really get and understand and be reliable in all that we teach in this class.
Basic Obedience Classes are now offered as a package with 2 Private Lessons included. The 1st lesson is preferably before you start in the group class at Douglas Feed and Pet Supply and the 2nd can be used anytime during the class session at your home or at a park and up to 1 month after the class has ended.
You will get the one on one time with the trainer in your home working on obedience in your dogs home environment and helping with any behavior concerns you may have.

Puppy Preschool (Under 16 weeks)
Special class JUST for puppies 8-16weeks. This class is 4 weeks.Get your puppy off to the right start. Learn everything you ever wanted to know about puppy topics: mouthing, chewing, grooming, housebreaking etc. Start your puppy off right getting socialization with: other puppies, big dogs, people, new objects and even a cat. We also cover the foundation of basic obedience.

Canine Good Citizen
This is a 5-week class that prepares you for the Canine Good Citizen Test. The test is a variety of basic commands as well as being able to greet "Strangers" with manners. The CGC test will be taken during the last week of this class. Here is more information about the CGC.
If you haven't taken Basic Obedience with Paws In Progress you will need an evaluation first to see if you are ready for this class. Dogs need to be able to walk on a loose leash, sit and down reliably entering this class.
Starting May 1st new clients attending this class that have had an evaluation but have not taken Basic Obedience the class will be $150.
The price will not change from what it has been for continuing current clients.

Advanced Obedience
This class is a fun 6week class that is geared toward prep for competition obedience or just for owners who want a very well behaved dog. This class adds many more distractions, works on moving toward off leash training, and much more. Must have a solid foundation in obedience or have taken Basic Obedience with Paws In Progress. Once you take Advanced Obedience you have access to attend "Paws Perfected" this is a free class offered almost every week to give you a place to practice training with your dog for their entire lifetime. Especially useful for prepping for competition obedience and lots more.
Starting May 1st new clients attending this class that have had an evaluation the class will be $150.

Pet Therapy
This 5-week class prepares the dog and handler to be a pet therapy team that can go into hospitals, nursing homes and libraries to work with kids. The class will prepare you for the Pet Therapy test and how to become a strong team ready to help people.
Must have taken Basic Obedience with Paws In Progress or have had an evaluation.
Starting May 1st new clients attending this class that have had an evaluation the class will be $150.

For new clients that need a trainer evaluation for lend a heart we offer this paired with a private lesson to help prep you for your evaluation for only $50 at our training facility at Douglas Feed and Pet Supply. (Save $30 off private lesson)

Intro to Agility
4-week class to try it out. This class is all on-leash and about getting familiar with the equipment, learning safety, fun, and focus. Dogs must have had Basic Obedience or have had an evaluation to determine the dog has enough Obedience from another trainer or class that they can participate. Private Lessons also available. After you have taken this class you will forever have access to Agility 4 Fun Workshops when they are offered at a small fee.
Starting May 1st this class the following changes will be in effect.

REGISTERING FOR CLASSES
Payment in full is required to hold your space in a class. Being as we are a small business, cancellations and no shows affect us significantly. That being said classes are non-refundable. Please check your schedule and read all class information carefully before registering and submitting payment. Makeups are available by appointment at Douglas Feed and Pet Supply for $35.
Starting May 1st 2013 we will be starting the package of Group and Privates paired together.
If you have not planned ahead and need to transfer to a different basic obedience class you will be charged a $150 Transfer Fee if we cannot fill your space when you decide to transfer.
Private Lessons that are cancelled with less than 48 hours notice will be charged the full price of the lesson.
Please register online for the class you are interested in. We will email you verifying that you have a spot and we will send you the full registration form and more information for the 1st day of class. Then please mail in your full registration form along with your payment to our P.O. Box 7024 Citrus Heights, 95621.
If the class you are interested in is less than 5 days away you can just bring the payment with you and fill out the registration form on the 1st day of class.We will email you verifying that we have received your registration and payment.
