What is camp?

Camp is about setting a good foundation for you and your dog to build on and learn together.

Every day they get to practice house manners like, waiting at doorways, laying on a dog bed in the living room, and just being a part of every day life. 

There are chickens, goats and sheep on the property as well, so your dog will "help" with all the chores that come with having farm critters and learn how to hang out and be calm and listen with them nearby as well. 

When your dog is ready for it and has mastered their obedience around the distractions at home, Eleza challenges your dog and takes them out into the community for walks on local trails, to parks, local restaurants with dog friendly patios so that your dog will have the skills to not only behave at home but everywhere you wish to take them. This being said some dogs don't enjoy social outings and busy public areas can be highly stressful for some dogs. So while they will develop the skillset for it, we will discuss if its something thats your dog enjoys or not. Just because you can doesn't necessarily mean you should. It's important to find the activities BOTH you and your dog enjoy and do those. There might be activities you enjoy but your dog really does not and its important to acknowledge that and do right by your dog.

Camp is designed to give you a jump start on training.

It's Really Important to me that we are on the same page and that you are completely on board with your dogs training program. 

Camp does NOT create a robot dog. There is No reset button. They are a living breathing animal and absolutely WILL try to push the boundaries when they come back home. As thats the environment they were successful getting away with behaviors before. Dogs are creatures of opportunity. However, Now they have a skillset to be successful. You will be given all the instruction to be setup for success, It will be up to you to hold them accountable, and to integrate training into your daily life as a lifestyle for longterm success. 

Camp creates a solid foundation so that you and your dog have a clear line of communication to work together going forward.  

Eleza believes in working at your dogs level and to progress through the stages of training as they are ready for it.

It's important to push a dogs comfort level to help them grow, but in a structured well planned out manner that sets them up for success. 

We have goals for every dog, however if a dog needs more time adjusting, or more time in one area of training than another - Eleza will focus on what is in the dog and owners best interest.

Your dogs training camp experience is unique to them. 

Every dog is an individual and what they need to succeed is unique to who they are, their biological needs and desires to be fulfilled on a daily basis, how they learn best, and the lifestyle their owners wish to include them in. 

All Camp Programs include:

  • Follow up support AFTER your pup comes home 
  • 1 Go Home Lesson
  • Group field trips & Outings  OR 
          2 Private Lessons 
  • Online Classroom
  • If you are utilizing all of the above resources fully and need additional guidance Eleza may add in additional lessons as she deems necessary.

Stuffs & things all of our camp dogs learn that go beyond commands...

  • Learning to settle without always being given commands
  • Sitting still for putting collars/leash on & off
  • Calm in the crate or other confined space
  • Jumping into the car & waiting for permission to get out 
  • Handling of ears, feet and body & standing for grooming (brushing etc) 
  • Learning to tolerate and maybe even enjoy Nail Trims
  • Appropriate Dog Socialization
  • Appropriate Manners when greeting people (IF your dog is a dog who enjoys greeting) 
  • Appropriate Toy Play (Bringing it back and letting go when asked)
  • How to toggle from being in an excited play back down to a calm state​

4 Week Camp
​Building a solid foundation

 + 2 Months of Follow Up Support
Your dog is learning to live life and learn new habits in a
​home environment not in a kennel facility.
After they have some solid foundation we spend time out in the world getting real life experience on trails, at parks, pet stores and restaurants.

Limited to up to 2 Spots open a month.
1 or 2 Spots is dependent on dogs behavioral concerns
